MJI Energy Launches as a Niagara-Certified Building Automation Contractor in New York

MJI Energy is open for business. Founded in May 2025, we are a Niagara-certified building automation systems integrator serving commercial building owners and facility operators across New York City and Long Island.

Who We Are

MJI Energy is one of a small number of woman-owned building automation firms in the Northeast, and one of fewer still with Tridium Niagara certification — qualifying our engineers to design, install, and program enterprise-grade building automation systems from the ground up.

Our founding team brings over 30 years of combined experience in the New York commercial building market, with backgrounds in Johnson Controls programming, large-scale Niagara deployments, and the full range of building types that define the New York metro area — from Class A Midtown office towers to Nassau County medical facilities to mixed-use properties across the outer boroughs.

What We Do

MJI Energy provides end-to-end building automation services: initial energy and controls assessments, BAS design and installation, custom programming, commissioning, operator training, and ongoing remote monitoring and preventive maintenance. We work across HVAC controls, energy management systems, lighting automation, and building-to-building integration.

Every system we install uses open, industry-standard protocols — primarily BACnet/IP — so building owners are never locked into a single service relationship. We build systems designed to outlast the contractor relationship, including ours.

Serving New York City and Long Island

We are based in the New York metro area, with field service coverage across all five boroughs, Nassau County, and Suffolk County. Our focus on this specific market means we understand the local regulatory environment — including NYC Local Law 97 and New York State energy programs — and the building stock, utility rate structures, and mechanical systems that define commercial properties here.
